An opportunity to join a market leading rental provider in overseeing the logistics operation for the South.

Client Details

Our client is one of the market leading rental providers of specialist equipment for the water, civil engineering and construction industries.

Description

Reporting to the Head of Logistics, this is an exciting new opportunity that will cover 5 key sites across the South of the UK. Working with the wider logistics team you will be responsible for managing the fleet of vehicles and drivers ensuring the business is compliant in all aspects of the logistics function. Further responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Head of Logistics to develop the long term logistics strategy.
  • Building strong relationships with the depot leads to ensure an efficient regional and national transport operation.
  • Navigating and planning for the logistics challenges that come with servicing our clients broad customer base.
  • Prioritising and monitoring resources to maintain effective control measures and deliver best-in-class service by identifying process improvement opportunities.
  • Day to day management of all company drivers ensuring they are compliant, alongside the control of the owned transport fleet on a day-to-day basis.
  • Delivering and improving on the budgeted transport spend within the agreed P&L.
  • Ensuring the recruitment, development and retention of capable and quality drivers.

Profile

The successful Logistics Manager will likely be based in the Northern Home Counties with easy access to Harlow and 4 other key distribution locations across the South. You will also be required to demonstrate the following key experience:

  • A track record in leading transport operations, ideally across multiple locations.
  • International CPC qualification.
  • Examples of where you have successfully engaged, managed and developed high performing transport teams.
  • Understanding of all aspects of transport compliance including FORS accreditation.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel UK wide to our clients various depots on a regular basis (including weekly overnight stays).

  • A competitive salary range of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum.
