Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: South Shields, Tyne & Wear
Start Date: ASAP/September 2024
Salary: £83 - £110 per day
GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in South Shields. This role involves supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.
About the Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
- Promote positive behaviour and support emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to support student progress.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs.
- Relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning (Level 2 or Level 3).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive and nurturing approach.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
