Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + car/allowance + bonus

Summary:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Sales/BDM who is looking to further their career within the logistics sector. Our client is a well-established third-party logistics provider who has developed and grown into a supplier of choice for warehousing, logistics and transport services to well-known and reputable clients. In order to continue with their ongoing growth strategy they are looking for a high calibre, ambitious and motivated Business Development Manager based in the West Midlands to sell their transport and fulfilment services. You will need to be commercially and operationally astute and able to identify and develop new and existing business opportunities as well as be experienced with European road transport and the contract logistics sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with new and existing clients in the contract logistics domain.
  • Identify and target new clients.
  • Prepare and present proposals to potential clients.
  • Negotiate contract terms.
  • Monitor and track sales performance using relevant metrics and analytics.
  • Represent the company at industry events, tradeshows and conferences.
  • Manage existing client accounts
  • Follow up on new business enquiries

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Previous European Road transport knowledge
  • Experience gained from the logistics sector
  • Proven history of contract logistics sales
  • Knowledge of Customs very desirable
  • Knowledge of Pallet network useful
  • Good commercial ability
  • Ambitious and looking for career progression
