Job Description: Customer and Transport Coordinator (Road Freight Forwarder)

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an ambitious and well-organized Road Freight Forwarder looking to take the next step in their career. Your day-to-day tasks will include quoting and booking customer requests, sourcing and booking contractors, tracking shipments, and communicating ETAs.

Due to rapid growth, Our client is now looking to appoint a Road Freight Forwarder. The position reports directly to the Operations Manager and is based at our contemporary office, located in the beautiful countryside.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer and Driver Communication: Ensure deadlines are met and expectations are exceeded by communicating effectively with both customers and drivers.
  • Cost Negotiation: Negotiate costs with subcontracted drivers in line with revenue & profit KPIs.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Work independently and within a team to meet deadlines.
  • Internal Communication: Maintain effective and professional communication with all members of staff.
  • Vehicle Tracking: Ensure vehicle tracking systems are always up to date.
  • Job Creation Software: Adhere to customer booking criteria using internal job creation software.

Technical Skills

  • IT Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Training: Training will be provided on all our user-friendly IT systems.

Business Skills

  • Attention to Detail: Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent communicator with strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Good organizational and timekeeping skills.
  • Pressure Management: Must work well under pressure.
  • Literacy and Numeracy: Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.

Employment Package

  • Job Types: Full-time, Permanent.
