VP Global Banking Business Manager - Corporate Banking

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Vice President Global Banking Business Manager - Corporate Banking for an initial 6-month contract, based hybrid in London.

Purpose of the Role:

Global Banking focuses on 4 main business areas: Corporate Clients Group, Capital Markets, Low Carbon Transition Group and Transaction Banking.

This role sits within the COO office, a function which collaborates with all areas of Global Banking, by being the first point of contact between the Business and all Support and Control functions with specific responsibility for tracking performance and costs (direct and indirect), management reporting, control framework including implementing remediation actions, compliance and regulatory matters, maintenance of business continuity plans, change management and technology.

As a Vice President Global Banking Business Manager - Corporate banking, you will:

  • Co-ordinate with different stakeholders across the Bank to pro-actively address changing business needs.

  • Provide excellent support in relation to key activities within the Business Management function of Global Banking, with experience in the relevant area and Global Banking as a whole.

  • Accountable for tasks such as:

  • Helping to design and implement control frameworks within assigned teams to identify and manage risks and track performance and costs, with a particular focus on the requirements of the Senior Manager Certification Regime.

  • Coordinating with relevant business heads as required to propose and implement adjustments to controls wherever weaknesses are identified.

  • Assisting in the definition and enforcement of business procedures, guidelines and policies.

  • Supporting the budget management process, and tracking performance, costs, headcount and other metrics against budget periodically through regular Management Reporting.

  • Acting as a delegate for the Global Banking COO, or other senior Business Management team members, to support the smooth running of the Global Banking function within the Bank, including in relation to approvals for travel, expenses, holidays and other department management matters.

  • Ensuring all revenues are reported correctly and on a timely basis.

  • Act as the main point of contact for guidance to the business regarding revenue recognition policies and the booking rules for financing activities.

  • Act as the main point of contact for department discussions with all typical control and support functions within the Bank for their relevant business area and liaises with other internal teams to facilitate resolution of issues or escalates matters to more senior Business Management team members.

  • Co-ordinate with relevant internal teams where required including the Compliance team in relation to all compliance and regulatory matters and audit teams in relation to the Bank's audit processes.

What we require from the candidate:

  • In depth knowledge of processes within the Global Banking function with advanced understanding of the specialism.
  • Strong experience in Business Management within front office Corporate Banking or investment banking.
  • Strong stakeholder and good people management skills to ensure the delivery of effective and compliant processes and solutions to facilitate the objectives of the team and the Bank.
  • Strong analytic and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical processes and operational strategies.
