Audit Senior - 20 Partner Firm

Atomic is delighted to be partnering with an independent Firm, based in London (West End), looking to add an Audit Senior to their team. The firm has been operating for nearly 100 years and offers clients dynamic and imaginative solutions to solve their problems.

Responsibilities:

The Firm are looking for a skilled Audit Senior who will work on a variety of audit assignments. Duties will be ensuring their clients' financial operations and controls are compatible with standards and regulations. Their clients are wide ranging in terms of size and industry. A successful candidate must be a good analyst with a critical approach and good knowledge of auditing processes, including risk management and compliance. The candidate also needs to be reliable with strong organisational skills.

You will be a senior member of their Audit and Accounts department, working alongside a variable pool of staff on assignments. You will supervise junior and semi-senior staff, reporting up to Audit Managers and often directly to Partners. Their audit department is currently made up of roughly 40 staff, all of whom are either trainees or fully qualified ICAEW or ACCA members. Additional responsibilities include

  • Plan and review the full audit process
  • Analyse risks and develop measures to mitigate them
  • Manage the audit team? allocating responsibilities and reviewing the team's performance
  • Training junior staff on the job where necessary
  • Ensuring the timely completion of audits
  • Reporting to audit manager or directly to partners
  • Ability to liaise professionally with wide variety of client staff members (from finance staff up to FD / MD level).
  • Optimising the audit process to increase compliance and efficiency

Requirements:

  • 4+ years' experience of working within audit
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Fully ACA or ACCA qualified (or nearing qualification will be considered)
  • Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards
  • Good knowledge of laws and regulations
  • Team building and leadership abilities
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Reliability, productivity, and attention to detail
  • Good practical experience with MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with accounting software, e.g. Xero, Sage, Quickbooks
  • Familiarity with audit and accounts production software, e.g. CCH ProAudit, Digita Accounts Production Advanced
