Job Title: Energy Lead
Location: Flexible / remote with travel across region
Operating Region: South of England: Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall & London
Salary: Up to £56,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time (37 hours per week)

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Energy Lead to drive forward a high-impact energy and carbon strategy within a major social housing provider. If you are a strategic energy professional with deep technical knowledge, commercial awareness & the ability to influence at every level, this role offers the platform to lead meaningful change.
You will be the organisation's go-to expert on energy, championing energy efficiency, procurement, compliance & decarbonisation across thousands of homes and assets.
What You Will Be Doing
- Leading the development and implementation of a group-wide energy strategy
- Managing over £5 million in utility spend and ensuring regulatory compliance (such as heat networks)
- Identifying cost, carbon, and energy saving opportunities across operations and housing stock
- Procuring and managing utility contracts and driving strategic supplier relationships
- Supporting the delivery of sustainability and carbon-reduction objectives
- Exploring innovation in renewables and EV infrastructure
- Collaborating with stakeholders across all business levels, from technical teams to regulators
- Reporting energy usage and carbon performance, including SECR and Scope 3
What We Are Looking For
- A relevant technical degree (e.g., energy management, engineering, building services, etc.)
- Full membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, Energy Institute, EMA)
- A proven track record of leading energy and carbon reduction initiatives
- Strong commercial awareness and strategic mindset
- Significant knowledge of energy systems, technologies and procurement
- Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders at a senior level
- Knowledge of heat networks, building compliance, and performance metrics
- Excellent communication, reporting, and data analysis skills
- Experience in housing, property, or large operational environments preferred
