Responsibilities:
- Assist the Financial Controller in overseeing the finance department and managing day-to-day financial operations.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports, and forecasts to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights and recommendations for cost control and financial performance improvement.
- Coordinate with auditors and facilitate external audits.
- Mentor and supervise junior finance staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- AAT qualified with a desire to embark on the next step towards becoming a chartered accountant (support for further qualifications can be provided by Goldstar).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and a desire to grow into a management role.
