Position Overview: Are you ready to take your finance career to the next level? We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Controller to join our finance team. Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Financial Controller in overseeing the finance department and managing day-to-day financial operations.
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports, and forecasts to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights and recommendations for cost control and financial performance improvement.
  • Coordinate with auditors and facilitate external audits.
  • Mentor and supervise junior finance staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • AAT qualified with a desire to embark on the next step towards becoming a chartered accountant (support for further qualifications can be provided by Goldstar).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and a desire to grow into a management role.
