Search Consultancy are supporting a well established Legal Firm in Huddersfield who are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier on a permanent basis. This role is also suitable for a candidate who has experience as an Accounts Assistant.
Reporting to the Head of Finance you will work as part of a dedicated Accounts team to ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial tasks in accordance with the firm's policies and the SRA Accounts Rules. To provide an effective, responsive, and approachable finance service to the wider business. You will be responsible for processing financial transactions for both office and client accounts, inputting sales and purchase invoices, banking of cheques and allocating electronic receipts, processing payments via BACS,CHAPS and cheques, identifying and processing client to office transfers, online banking, whilst maintaining accurate and timely accounting records and ensuring compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules. You will perform reconciliation of bank accounts on a daily and monthly basis as well as verifying and processing conveyancing completions. You will liaise with colleagues and external suppliers/contacts to resolve queries.
The ideal candidate for this role will:
- Have previous experience of working within a law firm accounts team or a professional services business (Desirable)
- Have proven IT skills, in particular experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Have experience of using a specialist accounting system
- Be able to handle sensitive information in a confidential and discreet manner
