We are seeking a high-performing and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) dedicated to improving the life chances of children. The successful candidate will be committed to continuing the development of our strong educational foundations. The HLTA will play a crucial role in overseeing interventions for all ELP students and others on the SEND register within a vibrant secondary school in Croydon.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide and deliver engaging learning activities for small groups, as well as offer support in lessons.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver sessions to small groups from mainstream and/or resource base, assessing, recording, and reporting on development, progress, and attainment.
  • Responsible for the delivery of designated curricula, including specific interventions, and ensuring the quality assurance of all interventions run by the TAs.
  • Support the SENCO with administrative tasks to ensure the best outcomes for students with SEND.
  • Adapt and create timetables for TAs and support staff to best meet the needs of our SEND pupils.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the educational needs of children, particularly those with SEND.
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective learning activities.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage administrative tasks and coordinate timetables.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, TAs, and the SENCO.
