We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive school community in Bedfordshire within the education and training secotr. As part of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with a variety of needs, helping them overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
What you'll be doing as an SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant in Kempston:
- Working 1:1 or with small groups of students with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
- Assisting the classroom teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment.
- Supporting children's emotional and social development, using positive reinforcement.
- Collaborating with teachers and parents to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Helping students build confidence, independence, and skills that go beyond the classroom.
Our desired SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- A passion for working with children with SEN.
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential. Full training will be provided.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic nature.
- A commitment to celebrating the unique strengths and achievements of each child.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- A relevant qualification (such as Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) would be advantageous but is not required.
- Local commute to Kempston
