An esteemed organisation within the Public Sector, renowned for high employee satisfaction and an exceptional working environment, is seeking an IT Category Manager. This role is situated within a collaborative team and offers a highly flexible work arrangement, including the option to work from home for the majority of the week.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Serve as the Procurement Category Manager for IT category, encompassing software & hardware tendering, and transformation projects.
- Develop and sustain category strategies that proactively consider external factors such as regulatory, legislative, and corporate social responsibility requirements.
- Maintain market awareness and insight into innovation and new ways of working by attending external networking events.
- Ensure procurement activities are conducted in a timely manner, aligning with regulatory requirements and adhering to established Procurement policies and procedures.
- Working closely with senior IT stakeholders on a daily basis to achieved desired outcomes via public sector procurement regulations.
- To lead the sourcing process for goods/ services to the required specification and/ or business needs for the IT Procurement Category.
- To oversee, negotiate and finalise the supplier contract management detail with business areas. Drawing down the advice of the Company Solicitor as required and ensuring contracts are executed in accordance with tender submissions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Procurement Category Management, specifically within the IT Category.
- Public Sector procurement experience with comprehensive knowledge of end-to-end tendering processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- MCIPS qualification or currently studying towards CIPS is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering results.
