Hourly Lifestyle / Care Assistant for a Young Female At Home
We are recruiting for on behalf of our client, a young female living at home in Dorset. She is looking for a team of like-minded PAs to provide her with personal care and provide daily living support. This is a fantastic opportunity to really help make a difference to our client's personal achievements
Location: Dorset, DT2
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £15 per hour
Shift Pattern: from 3 to 4 shifts per week
Holidays: 5.6 weeks' holiday pro rata
About Our Client:
Our client is a young female and was born with athetoid cerebral palsy, which causes her muscles to be stiff and spasm. She has some speech difficulties. She is starting to live independently in her own home (although her family lives nearby) and requires assistance with personal care, work and socialising.
She uses a powered wheelchair and will need support when getting in and out of her wheelchair, using the toilet, showering and getting into bed. She is keen to cook as much as possible for herself, but will need help with cutting up food and may require help with feeding when she is tired.
Our client enjoys socialising with friends and family and enjoys travel, music, theatre and meals out. You will need to accompany her to social events, but be prepared to step back and allow her to socialise with her friends. She is a member of a choir which she attends twice a week. Our client describes herself as fiercely independent and will need a PA who can promote her independence. She has a great sense of humour and is looking for an understanding PA who can help her live as full a life as possible.

- Personal Care - Bathing, Dressing, Toileting.
- Health Care - Administrating medicine, using medical equipment.
- Driving - Confident in your ability to safely drive the client's adapted van
- Daily Living - Cooking, Shopping
- Accompanying medical appointments
- Social Support
- Housekeeping / Domestic duties
And ideal applicant will need:
- To have a clean automatic driving licence (over 21 years old for insurance purposes) essential
- To be organised and be able to follow instructions
- To be respectful towards the client's privacy
- To be calm, patient and caring with a friendly approach and a good sense of humour.
- To be Motivated and enthusiastic
- To have a mature and responsible attitude
- To be fluent in English.
- Pet Lover, as the clients has pets
- To be presentable in both your appearance and ways
- To be a good timekeeper
- To be reliable and organised and maintain excellent standards.
- To be a good conversationalist but also a good listener.
