Description

Job Purpose

  • Conduct stock condition surveys and property inspections, generating reports to update the Group's asset management information and asset investment program.
  • Perform surveys and inspections for the capital and cyclical programs to support effective contract management and ensure quality and value-for-money (VfM) standards are met.
  • Produce reports identifying defects, maintenance needs, compliance issues, and capital investment opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and implement recommended actions.
  • Prepare financial reports on stock investment, collaborating with key managers to develop asset investment plans.
  • Review Fire Risk Audit (FRA) reports, ensure actions and remedial works are completed, and update relevant systems.
  • Assist in producing reports for internal and external audits using asset management data.
  • Maintain the Job Logic system (repairs, asset, and compliance) with updates from surveys.
  • Conduct HHSRS (Housing Health & Safety Rating System) inspections, providing recommendations and status reports.
  • Ensure recommendations from reports (FRA, stock condition, HHSRS) are implemented by the responsible teams.
  • Stay informed on regulatory requirements and legislative changes.
  • Deputise for the Head of Health & Safety when necessary.
  • Collate and report on monthly, quarterly, and annual performance indicators for each compliance work stream, ensuring quality checks are performed and used for performance improvement

Profile

The successful candidate:

  • Proven experience in a Property Inspector type role, producing inspection and survey reports for residential properties (3 years minimum)
  • A good understanding of legislation and regulation affecting property management including the Building Safety Act 2022 and Fire Safety Act 2021, HHSRS, and Decent Homes Standard
  • Thorough understanding of the areas for which the role is responsible: Property Construction & core components and Building Safety Management
  • A good understanding of fire safety requirements and implications when inspecting buildings
