Dovetail Recruitment are excited to be recruiting for a new Part Time Accounts Assistant to join a steadily growing company based in Lymington. This is a great opportunity to join a successful, fast-growing SME which specialises in the design, sourcing and manufacture of bespoke packaging and merchandise for major brands in the health and beauty industry.

Our client is looking for an experienced Part Time Accounts Assistant to join their growing team and offer support within the accounts department. You will need good communication skills, be well organised and have excellent attention to detail. Full time hours are available for the right person.

The role will include providing support with accounts payable and receivable. In addition to this, there will also be such duties as data entry, responding to emails, maintaining accurate records and files, and other general administration duties. Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks is key.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Part Time Accounts Assistant:

  • To assist with each stage of the sales order process:
  • Managing the Client's purchase order and any updates
  • Creating draft invoices which meet the specific requirements of each Client
  • Credit control
  • Liaising with Clients to provide supporting documentation, responding to finance queries
  • Managing Supplier purchase order and any updates
  • Paying deposits which meet the specific agreements with each supplier, and making final payments
  • Ensuring the correct Duty and VAT are paid
  • To assist with each stage of the purchase process,
  • To assist with monitoring & maintaining cashflow forecasts in multiple currencies, and business budget forecast and comparaison
  • Data entry of financial transactions and balancing ledgers
  • Assist with bank reconciliation: cross referencing the accounts against bank statements and other source documents to confirm accuracy
  • Assist with budget preparation and preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Assist in preparing HMRC/VAT returns

Minimum Requirements:

  • A high level of numeracy skills, minimum 5 GCSEs to include Maths & English to Level 4 or above.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience in Sage would be a bonus, but not essential
  • AAT qualification or similar would be a bonus but not essential

Salary and Benefits for the Part Time Accounts Assistant:

  • Salary circa £28-30,000 PA (pro-rata), depending on experience
  • 22 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Free parking on-site
  • 2-3 days per week - 9am - 5.30pm with the possibility of more hours for the right person.
