**LFB Warehouse Operative/ Technician

The London Fire Brigade are looking to recruit a Warehouse Technician on a 3-month interim basis to join London Fire Brigade's Operations Support Group (OSG). The role is based in Croydon with potential work at satellite facilities in Barking and Park Royal. The primary duty is the modification of head harnesses for respiratory face masks, with a range of additional tasks including the use of computerised systems for recording and charging of the Brigade's cylinders (training will be provided).
Day to Day of the Role:
- Modify rubber head harnesses by attaching the required buckles to the equipment.
- Charge compressed air cylinders and maintain OSG equipment at Croydon and other satellite facilities.
- Transport and carry equipment within the area covered by the Brigade, adhering to current procedures and legislation.
- Maintain and update records, both manual and computerised, relating to equipment and stores.
- Use computerised systems for inputting and retrieving information and managing emails.
- Ensure adherence to the Brigade's policies on equalities, health and safety, and the LFB Togetherness Strategy.
- Undertake visits to other establishments within the Brigade's area.
- Perform general warehouse duties, including picking and packing of stock, processing orders, and technical administration.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Operative/ Technician
- Previous experience of a role involving engineering, servicing, and the maintenance of equipment is desirable.
- Comfortable with the physical aspect of the role, including lifting 2kg cylinders.
- Must hold a clean, current driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Please note that the working hours for this role are 7am - 3pm Monday to Friday, and it is fully warehouse based.
