My client is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to support their health, safety, and facilities team in fostering a culture of health, safety, and well-being. The successful candidate will assist in delivering health and safety programmes and targets, maintaining the safety management system, and engaging with stakeholders on continuous improvement.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Conduct health and safety audits and inspections across various sites, ensuring compliance with policies and promoting adherence.
  • Participate in Health and Safety Committee meetings to present ideas, monitor compliance, and act upon feedback.
  • Plan and implement action programmes for health and safety improvements.
  • Manage the health and safety e-learning portfolio, including developing and delivering induction programmes.
  • Identify learning and development needs and organise training for managers and staff.
  • Monitor accident and near-miss reporting, investigate incidents, and ensure robust systems are in place.
  • Liaise with operational managers to support and drive health and safety standards.
  • Monitor contractor health and safety compliance through audits.
  • Advise on DSE and office-related risks, conduct risk assessments, and develop safe systems of work.
  • Produce clear reports for various audiences and draft communications for new training and procedures.
  • Provide health and safety advice, guidance, and support to managers and staff.
  • Maintain accurate content on the health and safety intranet site.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organisation to ensure compliance and improvement in health and safety policies.
  • Contribute to internal health and safety messaging that aligns with the organisation's culture.
  • Support the facilities management team as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with staff and managers on health and safety issues.
  • Ability to produce and review health and safety procedures.
  • Skilled in designing, delivering, and evaluating training.
  • Proficient in collecting, monitoring, and analysing health and safety data.
  • Experience in risk management and investigation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • NEBOSH or NCRQ certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification.
  • Graduate level education or equivalent experience.
  • Training qualification or experience, with evidence of continued professional development.
