The role

Due to our continued growth and expansion Adsyst are looking to recruit a skilled and experienced Accounts Officer. We are looking for someone who is proactive, concise, has excellent attention to detail and outstanding writing proficiency/literacy skills.

The Accounts Officer will build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and clients, whilst supporting the wider Finance, Project Management, and Engineering teams.

Duties include:

  • Cross-checking invoices with payments and expenses to ensure accuracy
  • Deal with escalations relating to both customers and suppliers
  • Reconcile and audit nominal accounts
  • Complete regular bank account reconciliations – credit card, current account, petty cash, savings
  • Prepare and process the VAT return
  • Reconcile outstanding POs
  • Overview supplier payments being made
  • Reconcile payroll including journals
  • Provide support to accounting team administrators to ensure all tasks are completed
  • Attending training sessions (both internal & external) when required
  • Any other task as requested by Management (with discussion & agreement between Management and yourself)

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent maths skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Knowledge and experience of Accounting software such as Sage, Deltek VantagePoint (preferable)
  • Advance excel skills - Ability to use look up functions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Several years of experience in the Accounting field
  • Certificate in Accounting accredited by AAT
  • Previous experience working in medium / large companies exceeding 10m turnover
  • Clean UK Driving License
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK

This is a Full time position: Temporary to Permanent contract ( temp to perm initially 6 months)

Hours: 08:30 – 17:15 – Monday to Thursday, and 08:30 – 16:00 on Fridays.
