Accounts Officer (term to perm position)

The role
Due to our continued growth and expansion Adsyst are looking to recruit a skilled and experienced Accounts Officer. We are looking for someone who is proactive, concise, has excellent attention to detail and outstanding writing proficiency/literacy skills.
The Accounts Officer will build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and clients, whilst supporting the wider Finance, Project Management, and Engineering teams.
Duties include:
- Cross-checking invoices with payments and expenses to ensure accuracy
- Deal with escalations relating to both customers and suppliers
- Reconcile and audit nominal accounts
- Complete regular bank account reconciliations – credit card, current account, petty cash, savings
- Prepare and process the VAT return
- Reconcile outstanding POs
- Overview supplier payments being made
- Reconcile payroll including journals
- Provide support to accounting team administrators to ensure all tasks are completed
- Attending training sessions (both internal & external) when required
- Any other task as requested by Management (with discussion & agreement between Management and yourself)
Required Skills / Experience:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent maths skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Strong organisational skills
- Knowledge and experience of Accounting software such as Sage, Deltek VantagePoint (preferable)
- Advance excel skills - Ability to use look up functions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Several years of experience in the Accounting field
- Certificate in Accounting accredited by AAT
- Previous experience working in medium / large companies exceeding 10m turnover
- Clean UK Driving License
- Must be eligible to work in the UK

This is a Full time position: Temporary to Permanent contract ( temp to perm initially 6 months)
Hours: 08:30 – 17:15 – Monday to Thursday, and 08:30 – 16:00 on Fridays.
