Have you got experienced teaching PLMD?

We are seeking a dedicated PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Tutor to join our supportive team. This role is ideal for a compassionate individual who has a passion for making a difference in the lives of students with complex educational needs.

  • Hourly Rate: Up to £35 per hour
  • Location: Middlesex
  • Job Type: Part-time (term time only )

Day-to-day of the role of a PMLD Teacher:

  • Deliver tailored educational lessons to students in order to meet the individual needs of learners with PMLD.
  • Assess students' abilities and craft personalised learning plans to aid their development.
  • Utilise a range of sensory and interactive teaching methods to engage and stimulate learning.
  • Work closely with other educational professionals, including therapists and support staff, to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
  • Monitor and record student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Provide a safe, nurturing environment that respects each student's individual needs and dignity.
  • Engage with parents or guardians to discuss their child's progress and to support learning outside of the classroom.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the PMLD Teacher role:

  • Experienced delivering PMLD within a further education setting
  • A teaching qualification or relevant degree, with a strong understanding of special educational needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to improve the educational experiences of students with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to adapt teaching methods to individual learners.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of special education.
