If so Milk Education have the perfect opportunities for you starting in September 2024. We are currently supporting Secondary schools throughout Salford who've requested core subject graduates to help enhance their academic performance in the 2024/25 academic year. The Graduate Support posts will be full time and term time only.

Key responsibilities within this role;

  • Providing tailored intervention sessions with students on a 1:1 and small group basis outside of the classroom
  • Ensuring students are reaching their expected levels of Progress in line with academic targets
  • Supporting fully qualified teachers in the classroom, working with select students ensuring they remain on task and implementing behavior policies if needed
  • Flexible personality to adapt to the role as required with occasional requests to cover lessons for absent teachers
  • Ability to build a rapport with young people and supporting their pastoral needs as well as academic support

Working as a Graduate Support Assistant will provide you with firsthand experience in a secondary school setting enabling you to be well prepared for a future career in teaching. This post will also vastly enhance your PGCE or School direct teacher training application if you look to go down this route in September 2025 or beyond.

Key criteria:

  • Must have a university degree 2:2 or above
  • Previous experience of working with young people would be beneficial but not essential
  • Clear desire to work with young people and become a teacher in the future
  • Must be able to provide a minimum of two references within the past two years
  • Willingness to undertake CPD training as asked by Milk and your placement school
