Domestic Abuse Practitioner - Dudley

RSR Justice are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Dudley Borough for a Domestic Abuse Practitioner.

The purpose of this role is to reduce the impact of Domestic Abuse in parents whose children are being supported through a Family Safeguarding intervention by providing evidenced based outcomes.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering a salary of £24,310.04 - £27,751.55 per annum (dependent upon qualifications and experience).

Main Duties:

  • Involve and encourage service user feedback and consultation in all aspects of the service.
  • Using motivational interviewing techniques collect relevant information about the individuals within the household including victim, perpetrator and children through face to face meetings, interviews, agency referrals and agency intelligence.
  • To develop innovative ways of working with victims of abuse based on good practice and evidence-based research.
  • Maintain up to date records via agreed case management system including the Capacity for Change workbook detailing the behaviours within the household, triggers and escalation. This information will be share with the team to strengthen the support plan and define interventions and key personnel.
  • Ensure information is compliant with GDPR, confidentiality and information sharing procedures. Ensure information is always shared at the appropriate time.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults and children in a safeguarding capacity and with demonstrable outcomes.
  • Have knowledge of the dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact on individuals and families and techniques to engage.
  • Knowledge of the Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy and the gendered nature of violence.
  • Have an excellent understanding and working practice of undertaking risk assessments and understanding the nature of domestic and sexual violence.
  • Holding and managing a caseload and working to timescales (SMART approach).
  • Full driving license with willingness to use own vehicle.

Role is subject to DBS check at the relevant level.
