Pressbrake Setter/Operator

Meridian Business Support are delighted to be working with a company specializing in providing powder coating services to recruit a Pressbrake Setter/Operator (3m and 4m Bystronic CNC Press Brakes) in Southampton.

Powder coating is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder which is delivered via an evaporating solvent, powder coating is typically applied electrostatically and then cured under heat and our client are seeking a skilled and experienced Press Brake Setter/Operator to join their team.

Main duties of role:

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine setup and operational requirements
  • Calculate and set machine controls for various operations, including forming, bending, and punching
  • Maintain tooling
  • Operate CNC controller
  • Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust the machine as necessary
  • Use the machine in manual data input mode to produce simple components
  • Load and operate the machine to produce good quality product
  • Inspect punched blank

The machines used are Bystronic CNC Pressbrakes and experience of these machines is preferred but not mandatory as training is provided.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Press Brake Setter/Operator or similar role
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and setting up press brake machines, which are used to bend, form, and shape metal sheets and plates. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Salary - £37,500 per annum, along with overtime available paid at £27.00 per hour.

Hours - Monday to Thursday 0800-1630, Fridays 0700-1530. 30 minute break unpaid and 15 minute break paid.
