Location: Bedford

Contract Type: 3 Month Fixed Term Contract - Full Time

Hours: 37.5 - 9am - 5.30pm

Salary:£25,000

The role of the cashier is to support the Finance Team Leader. The Cashier will record and account for all receipts of the business, perform credit checks on customers, and set-up and maintain customer accounts.

The cashier will strengthen the accuracy of ledgers in a timely manner by working very closely with the accounts receivable function, creating a strong processing team dynamic.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring all cash is allocated to the correct customer accounts and invoices
  • Deal with account queries promptly and efficiently
  • Housekeeping of customer accounts
  • Ensure refunds are processed for customers accurately and promptly
  • Assess new credit requests and review customers' credit ratings with our facilities
  • Activate new customer accounts
  • Reconcile sales ledger
  • Assist in the export and import of sales invoices from multiple systems to one
  • Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

ABOUT YOU

  • Excellent organisation and planning skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines while maintaining the quality and accuracy of the work
  • Experience of transaction processing and reporting improvements
  • Good Excel skills and accounts system administration
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Work collaboratively within a team
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a changing environment
