Robert Half are pleased to partner with a growing business in Lowestoft to find their next Assistant Management Accountant. This role will report directly to the Finance Manager and be responsible for producing financial reports to the wider business and creating new solutions to enhance the businesses financial objectives.
Role Responsibilities
- Oversee daily validation of data into the accounting software
- Produce, review and distribute various financial reports
- Process month-end accounting adjustments to ensure accurate reporting of monthly financial results
- Review and analyse income and costs, including budget (or latest reforecast) variances
- Analyse, substantiate and report on assigned Balance Sheet accounts
- Oversee intercompany trading and non-trading account reconciliations
- Business partner with various departments and management to support financial decision making
- Ensure effective internal communication with colleagues, including our Shared Service Centre
- Assist in budget setting and periodic reforecasts of budget
- Assist in annual production of statutory accounts, including gathering information and posting final journals
- Analyse financial performance and assist in medium and long-term business planning and forecasts
- Provide absence cover for line manager on priority tasks
- Support monitoring and evaluating processes and suggest improvements where needed
- Contribute to effective corporate governance, risk management and internal controls
- Other ad-hoc duties necessary as directed by your line manager
Role Requirements
- Relevant professional qualification - AAT or part-qualified ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA (Desirable)
- Experience of working in an assistant management accounting role, or similar
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Experience of working in a dynamic finance environment
- Able to build effective relationships; good communicator; ensures collaborative working; embraces the benefit of sharing knowledge.
