Assistant Management Accountant

We are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our team, providing support and supplying Management Information (MI) to enable the Finance team to produce accurate corporate management accounts and reporting across all functions. This role is integral in driving business results through financial and operational performance insights.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Compile accurate company and cost centre budgets and forecasts.
  • Support the production of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including KPI dashboards and ad-hoc reporting as requested by management.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders and managers, positioning the Finance team as a trusted advisor.
  • Complete and submit all ONS surveys within deadlines.
  • Record CAPEX expenditure accurately and reconcile fixed assets monthly.
  • Assist in the preparation of the company budget and forecasts, production reporting, and development of monthly management accounts.
  • Complete Balance Sheet reconciliation and Budget/Forecast.
  • Provide cost centre reporting and interpretation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Highly numerate with an understanding of accounting principles.
  • Formal accounting qualification in AAT or part-qualified in CIMA, ACCA, ACA.
  • Proficient with analytical report writing software and MS Office.
  • Experience with a computerised finance system.
  • IT literate, including Excel to an intermediate standard.
  • Confidential approach to work.
  • Creative, proactive, and shows initiative.
  • Completer finisher, willing and enthusiastic in the follow-up of actions and opportunities.
  • Ability to take responsibility, problem-solve and work independently.
  • Effective team player with excellent communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and conscientiousness.
  • Constantly seeking improvement and efficiencies in ways of working.
