We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Buyer with a background in construction to join our clients growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a couple of years of experience in procurement within the construction industry, who is looking for a temp to perm opportunity. The successful candidate will be fully office-based and will play a key role in managing purchasing activities and securing the materials required for business projects.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Evaluate and procure all necessary materials and equipment required for construction projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure the best prices and terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed to ensure a steady supply of materials.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about current industry trends and potential new suppliers.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Buyer, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proven track record of effective supply management and cost savings.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work proactively and independently.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and any relevant procurement software.
