Finance Business Partner - Reading (on-site initially but will become a hybrid role with the introduction of a new Accounting System) - Salary £40,000 to £50,000

A newly created role within our clients organisation that operate in the Education sector, they are looking for a commercially minded Accountant to join them in a Finance Business Partner capacity to join them on their journey as they look to expand their operational sites tenfold.

You'll have previous Management Accounting experience and will have responsibility for oversight of the monthly reporting process inclusive of looking at performance VS budget.

A bit more about the role....

  • Month end processes - oversee the month end process, including balance sheet reconciliations, journals and reporting (all accounts are prepared on an accruals basis)
  • Monthly budget monitoring - ensuring complete, accurate and timely reports are produced, with clear narrative to the reasons behind any variances noted.
  • Reforecast - work with the CFO and Headteachers to complete reforecasts and ensure projected income and spend is as accurate as possible
  • Budget setting - work with the CFO and Headteachers to set annual, three year and five year budgets, that are realistic, accurate, and account for expected changes and fluctuations
  • Financial planning - produce financial analysis and forecasts for potential changes within schools, helping staff understand the potential impact
  • Year-end process/audit - in conjunction with the CFO, ensure the year end processes are accurate and complete (e.g. depreciation journals) and all documents are prepared for the auditors

About you....

  • Part Qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA
  • Demonstrable Management Accounting experience
  • Knowledge of Accruals & Balance sheet accounting
  • String Excel skills (Pivot/V-lookups)
