The Opportunity
We're looking for a Business Intelligence Associate to join our Business Intelligence Solution team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys project work, is good with data gathering, and has some knowledge of using data visualisation and data manipulation tools. Your new role
Reporting to the Business Intelligence Solutions Manager, you'll be working closely with our wider Data Centre of Excellence team and have the opportunity to work on some exciting projects and also support our BAU activity. We're in the process of migrating to an Azure data warehouse, have recently launched ThoughtSpot and are continuing to push innovation in the team by looking at new tools and methods for delivering data to the business.
It's an amazing opportunity for somebody starting out to gain technical skills and build knowledge about data and insurance. You'll be part of data visualisation specialist to learn from alongside a comprehensive range of tools to support your learning such as Data Camp resources and the Insurance Bootcamp.
Other responsibilities:
- Develop awareness of all strategies that relate to data in order to appropriately align effort with this direction.
- Contribute to developing awareness of data across the business in order to ensure the highest standards of compliance.
- Respond to data related questions and enquiries, using available data tools and procedures
- Support the identification and documentation of reporting and data requirements for work activities and projects
- Provide technical support to our end users on the use and application of data warehouse
- Build and maintain strong productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About You
We're looking for an enthusiastic, data orientated aspiring individual to help our dynamic and evolving Data & MI team to grow, meet the challenges of the business and shape new ways of working by innovation.
We would love to hear from you should you have some technical BI/ MI exposure, specifically with SQL and data visualisation tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services, Power BI, Tableau or QlikView.
Other skills you'll need:
- Experience in gathering and interpreting data
- Good communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Experience producing detailed reports (advantageous)
- Planning and organizing – able to prioritise and manage workload
- Analytical, problem solving skills
