Senior Test Engineer

Atkinson Moss Engineering have been engaged to assist our industry leading client with the appointment of Senior Test Engineer to join their growing Engineering team.

Location: Norwich Onsite working (Monday to Friday 08.30-17.00)

The Senior Test Engineer is a key member of the Test and Simulation team, responsible for dynamometer verification testing of electric drive systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee test facilities and schedules.
  • Plan and manage tests, verification, validation, and competitor benchmarking.
  • Design and commission test rigs and fixtures.
  • Communicate issues to upper management clearly and promptly.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly testing environment.
  • Design test system architecture and implement NI LabVIEW code for verification tasks.
  • Produce and analyse technical reports on product performance.
  • Supervise and mentor test engineers.
  • Perform root cause analysis on test failures and equipment issues.
  • Act as a technical resource for resolving test issues across departments.
  • Recommend improvements for testing methods.
  • Ensure test equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Support various teams in verification and validation tasks, including pre-compliance testing.
  • Assist product design teams with test development, data analysis, and feedback on testing requirements.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • BEng/BSc in Electronics, Embedded Systems, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in engineering development, preferably in sectors involving electro-mechanical machine testing (e.g., Automotive).
  • Proficient in writing technical reports for verification and validation.
  • Strong understanding of electronics principles and measurement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of signal measurement best practices and data acquisition.
  • Familiarity with PXI Data Acquisition chassis and NI LabVIEW programming.
  • Experience with mathematical processing software like MATLAB.
  • Understanding of Nyquist sampling rate, bandwidth, and frequency response.
  • Experience in DSP and fast-Fourier transform analysis.
