Are you a civil engineering Planner looking for a new change in your career?

I am working with a proven civil engineering contractor who is looking for a Project Planner in Hampshire to maintain a large civil engineering scheme on programme. The role involves effective portfolio planning and programming of a civils project using Microsoft Projects. As the project Planner, you will report to the Planning Manager, aswell as sit in meetings with the board of the project, ensuring that all planning procedures are implemented in accordance with programme strategy and client governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan projects and ensure they are programmed to a level of detail necessary for the site team to deliver the scheme without delays
  • Ensuring the review of progress, forward planning, and lookahead programmes are carried out
  • Identifying risks
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans using Microsoft Projects, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and timelines
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between project teams, stakeholders, and external partners to assist with project planning and execution
  • Provide expert planning support and guidance on NEC contract requirements
  • Attend site visits and stakeholder meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree or certificate in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • A UK driving license
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of NEC form of contracts
  • Experience of Primavera P6 desirable but not essential
  • Expert knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programmes
  • Experience of Earned Value Management desirable but not essential
  • Experience of working on civil engineering projects
