We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team. **Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Recommendations: Conduct detailed assessments for major adaptations and complex equipment needs for individuals with a range of health conditions. Prepare sketches, review plans, and provide detailed specifications for major works, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Holistic Person-Centred Care: Work within a multi-professional team to undertake complex OT assessments, support planning, and reviews. Deliver person-centred solutions tailored to the needs of service users and their carers.
- Legal & Social Care Framework: Apply your knowledge of legal social care frameworks and housing legislation to ensure recommendations are in line with local policies and regulatory standards.
- Case Management: Manage complex cases, prioritising, planning, and progressing as necessary to ensure timely and effective outcomes for service users.
- Equipment Training: Assess for, recommend, and review the effectiveness of simple and complex equipment. Provide training to service users and carers on the safe use of equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and safe working practices.

Knowledge & Experience:

Proven expertise in assessing for and recommending major adaptations and complex equipment.

Skilled in preparing sketches, reading plans, and providing detailed specifications for works.

Comprehensive understanding of manual handling techniques and requirements.

Experience Working in a Multi-Disciplinary Team: Experience of working collaboratively with other health and social care professionals to deliver holistic assessments, support planning, and reviews.

Legal & Social Care Framework Knowledge: Strong understanding of the legal frameworks within social care and housing legislation, particularly relating to adaptations and equipment provision.

Case Management: Demonstrated ability to manage, plan, prioritise, and progress complex cases effectively, with an ability to work autonomously.

Equipment & Safety Knowledge: Extensive experience in assessing for and recommending both simple and complex equipment. Familiarity with policies and guidelines surrounding safe working practices and equipment usage.

Qualifications: A professional Occupational Therapy qualification, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
