The organisation;

The opportunity;

Working alongside the Board and organisation's leadership team, the People Director will play a key role in the organisation's future growth strategy and be a trusted advisor on all people related activities. Leading a large team, you will be responsible for the following key areas;

  • developing and driving the people agenda, delivering the colleague engagement strategy.
  • driving high performance through people, developing effective leadership skills, driving a culture of accountability and personal responsibility.
  • really focusing on people development to develop the future workforce strategy.
  • overseeing people systems and processes to enhance performance and drive operational improvements.
  • maximising the use of data and systems, utilising data and insights to drive future decision making.

Predominantly office based in Tyne & Wear.

What we are looking for;

Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following;

  • experience of leading a large and multi-disciplinary team including HR, Recruitment and L&D.
  • highly ambitious and able to develop the function to a high performing team.
  • real strength and depth of knowledge in L&D strategies.
  • ability to translate the business strategy into clear deliverable objectives and engage the wider team.
  • experience of leading transformational change across a large People team.
  • strategic thinker, able to develop a strategic workforce plan to support the organisation's ambitious growth plans.
  • enhance the use of systems and look at ways to continually improve ways of working across the organisation.
  • emotionally intelligent, able to take on board feedback and adapt style and approach.
  • could be a Number 1 in a smaller business or a Number 2 looking to take on their first People Director role.
  • highly commercial background.

Candidates must be used to working in a highly people focused organisation which embraces staff development. Our client is looking for candidates who are results driven and can demonstrate clear achievements.
