Position: Main Line Operative
Location: TATA Steel, Steelpark Way, Willenhall, Wolverhampton WV11 3SQ
Salary: £13.89 per hour (inclusive of 10% shift allowance). Weekend rate: £18.94 per hour. Fully trained operatives with additional responsibilities can earn between £14.30 and £17.53 per hour (inclusive of 10% shift allowance).
Contract Length: 3 months initially
Shift Patterns: Double shifts: Monday to Thursday from 05:30-13:30 and 13:30-22:00; Friday from 05:30-11:20 and 11:20-17:10.
Start Date: ASAP, subject to Occupational Health clearance, including a Drug and Alcohol test.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate machinery and material handling equipment to high standards of workmanship.
- Achieve required safety, quality, production, and customer service levels.
- Adhere to and enforce site Health and Safety regulations.
- Proactively address unsafe conditions and actions.
- Flexibly adapt to meet the business's needs.
- Recognize and process relevant product ranges for accurate material selection.
- Utilize continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques to enhance machine availability.
- Manage material handling, stock records, labeling, and storage according to commercial and safety standards.
- Engage actively in your personal development plan.
Essential Requirements:

Previous experience in one or more of the following areas:

Profiling: Plasma, gas cutting, and milling operations

Decoiling: Multi-strand and decoiling line operations
-
Press Operations: Press line operations
-
Slitting: Coil slitting line operations
-
Ability to perform manual handling tasks and stand for extended periods.

A valid driving license and access to your own vehicle due to shift times.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Solid understanding of UK Health and Safety legislation.

Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
