Project Manager Infrastructure Children's Services - Full time – Barnsley – Hybrid – Local Authority - 3-month Contract – £19.85 Per hour PAYE – £24.66 Per hour Umbrella

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join a local authority in South Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be part of the Programme Office, driving and supporting the delivery of the Children's Services Transformational Programme. This role offers a chance to work on a variety of projects within Education, Early Start and Prevention service areas, as well as Children's Social Care.

Offering hybrid working – 3 days per week on site, 2 remotely. The successful candidate will undergo a DBS check.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Lead on project management, coordinating resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage projects within a formal programme and project management framework.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance on projects, ensuring key milestones and information are communicated to stakeholders.
  • Monitor risks and address issues to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Perform performance management, complex data analysis and interpretation to promote quality practice and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations.
  • Contribute to the development of service strategies, policies, and plans.
  • Liaise, negotiate, influence, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Stay informed on developments to enhance the service and meet internal and external demands.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations, legal and statutory requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 6 qualification or equivalent.
  • Relevant Programme/Project Management Training.
  • Desirable: Relevant Programme/Project Management Qualification.
  • Significant experience in project management within a large organisation.
  • Experience in large complex change projects.
  • Advisor to managers at all levels, external agencies, and forums.
  • Experience in continuous service improvement and team working.
  • Policy and procedure formulation and implementation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of local and national strategies, policies, and legislation relevant to the area of work.
  • Knowledge of programme/project management, project planning, risk management, governance, and benefits realisation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and understanding of local government pressures.
