We are seeking an Order Processing & Purchasing Manager to lead our Operations department towards the objective of ‘Happy Customers, Happy Team'. This role is pivotal in ensuring our operations are well-organised and reliable. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, engineering, or construction, with a focus on leadership, process improvement, and meticulous attention to detail.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Manage the Purchasing & Order Processing functions to ensure excellent customer service through efficient and effective processes.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the team to take ownership of objectives, proactively make improvements, and deliver outstanding service.
  • Hands-on contribution to departmental functions including order processing, purchasing, stock control, and logistics.
  • Drive process improvements and lead the transition to a single ERP system for product ranges.
  • Engage with customers to update them on order progress, address queries, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Source equipment, goods, and services, manage vendor relationships, and lead strategic procurement activities.
  • Plan and maintain stock levels efficiently, ensuring materials are ordered and received in line with production schedules.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a customer-focused approach.
  • Proven people management experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or construction environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and understanding of multi-level Bill of Material structures.
  • Experience in purchasing and strategic procurement.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
