Finance Officer

Are you a competent administrator with experience of finance-related data entry and processes? Are you seeking a short-term assignment to build on your finance administration? If so, Signature Recruitment is seeking a Finance Officer to join our client, a prestigious London university. This full-time position is fully campus based has an immediate start and will run for one month.

As a Finance Officer, you will be integral to the finance team with a good working knowledge of spreadsheets and financial systems. You will focus on raising purchase orders, creating invoices. chasing invoices and payments. In addition, you will undertake some other administrative duties including ordering supplies, managing shared inboxes, answering queries and signposting as necessary. You will also welcome and check in guests and visitors with a friendly yet professional manner.

Finance Officer Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing day-to-day administrative support for financial operations of the Department
  • Raising Purchase Orders, creating new suppliers, and supplying invoices to customers, chasing invoices and payment as required
  • Managing the filing and document control of invoices, orders, suppliers, and instruments in accordance with university rules and regulations
  • Preparing and providing financial updates and reports for meetings and taking notes or minutes, if necessary
  • Assisting with other ad hoc administrative duties in order to facilitate the smooth running of the department and wider university. To include managing shared inboxes, answering queries and welcoming and 'checking in' guests and visitors

Finance Officer Key Skills:

  • Experience in admin or finance-related area in a higher education setting
  • Good organisational skills and time management with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and an awareness of confidentiality in handling financial data
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with the finance team and other stakeholders
  • Good IT skills - MS Office Suite, Excel and student CRM and databases

This position is ideal for someone who has exposure to general financial administration processes, has good administrative skills and a personable and proactive manner.
