Investment Analyst - Biopharmaceutical Sector

We are seeking an Investment Analyst with a startup company focus on the biopharmaceutical sector. The ideal candidate will be adept at sourcing, analysing, and reporting on industry-specific information to provide insightful research reports. This role involves conducting in-depth research on potential investment opportunities, preparing detailed investment reports, and building relationships with key industry players.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Source and analyse public domain information across scientific, clinical, commercial, corporate, and market domains to produce regular industry research reports.
  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of potential investment opportunities within the biopharmaceutical sector, including project initiation.
  • Prepare detailed investment reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry players, including biopharmaceutical companies, researchers, regulatory bodies, and potential clients such as biotech and pharma executives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree in life science, biotechnology, biomedical, or pharmaceutical sciences; advanced degrees or an MBA with a focus on healthcare-related fields are advantageous.
  • Experience in investment banking, venture capital, or private equity within the healthcare or biopharmaceutical sectors, or research experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with the drug development lifecycle, including commercialisation and clinical trials.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex scientific data and financial reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Established connections within the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Capability to develop and implement investment strategies.
  • Understanding of regulatory and market dynamics in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with evaluating investment opportunities, performing due diligence, and understanding market trends.
