A large exhibition centre located in Birmingham has a new and strategic role for a Sales Manager to maximise the commercial returns from exhibitions and improving the customer journey. You will be leading a team of 4 consultants, ensuring they operate on a more strategic and consultative basis.

Your duties as Sales Manager:

  • Selling products and services as agreed by the business to achieve targets. Including proactive campaign management and maximising opportunities through cross and up selling additional products and services.
  • Contributing to financial planning and delivery of forecasts and budget numbers through achieving results and controlling costs
  • Working with the Head of Fully Connected to deliver specific campaigns and success for full-service shows
  • Working closely with colleagues to build show/event specific campaigns and targets, and lead the team to deliver to them
  • Identifying and developing opportunities to increase revenue
  • Managing relationships with customer groups, ensuring all records are appropriately maintained
  • Working collaboratively, alongside the Venue Services Director and building relationships with all teams and suppliers to achieve an excellent, seamless end to end experience
  • Developing relationships with all customers and deliver a service as per venue requirements
  • Embedding the Exhibitor Response function into the team, ensuring this role supports the team to deliver to their targets
  • Introducing client specific training and support programmes, positioning the business as a trusted partner for all event delivery
  • Establishing an exhibitor reward programme that helps improve our relationships across all exhibitor groups

We're looking for a Sales Manager with:

  • Experience of working in a fast pace, high pressure, target drive sales and service environment. Has a passion for selling and customer service.
  • Sound commercial understanding
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate
  • Understanding of ecommerce and how to maximise ifs efficiency/commerciality

Exhibition Sales experience is not essential, but a strong sales background in a dynamic market, like FMCG, is.
