Freightserve recruitment are looking for 2 X Customs Assistants. The company are a major Freight Forwarder based in Purfleet, Essex.
KEY TASKS
- Booking and handling jobs
- Handling import & export clearances from start to finish
- Communication with external suppliers and government bodies
- Operationally handle all shipments on our in house systems
- Deliver high levels of customer service
- Support commercial awareness and the management team
- Support and assist colleagues in other departments
- Ensure customs compliance is maintained
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Essential:
- Clearing import & export consignments through CDS integrated software
- Good understanding of import freight procedures
- Ability to work to demanding deadlines
- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
- Computer literate in Microsoft office
- Excellent Attention to detail
- Flexible approach and attitude
- Ability to work on own initiative and part of a team is essential
- Excellent organisational skills including record keeping
- Problem solving and the ability to engage critical thinking skills
Working hours are Monday - Friday 0900 - 1700
