We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Supervisor to enhance our team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager on a day-to-day basis - you will be responsible for managing the department to ensure colleagues are motivated to deliver in their role leading to safe, efficient and high standards of engineering support enabling Haribo to achieve its objectives.

You will be responsible for all Electrical decisions whilst on shift to ensure the delivery of the engineering schedule, whilst maintaining health and safety, quality and food safety standards within an environment of continuous improvement and engagement for colleagues.

You will have key relationships with other departments including but not limited to Production, Packing, HSE, Technical Services and the People Team.

Some of the key accountabilities and responsibilities of the role are;

  • Monitoring the standard of Electrical work carried out across the business including organising and supervising jobs
  • Allocating and controlling resources (nominals)
  • Ordering and maintaining stock levels of spare parts
  • Understanding department goals / targets
  • Making decisions
  • Problem solving e.g., resolve and report on any breakdowns
  • Continuously looking to identify & implement ways to improve the performance of the department (e.g., improving machine efficiency)
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with any Permit to Works, Job recording, fire alarm
  • Any other activities relevant to the role

Ingredients that you bring with you:

  • Previous experience in Food Manufacturing is essential
  • Recognised Electrical apprenticeship
  • Awareness / Knowledge of Health & Safety / Food Hygiene standards
  • Excellent level of communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal – with the ability to communicate well at all levels
  • Ability to work individually, and as part of a team, is essential
  • Experience of supervising a team is essential
  • Have knowledge and experience in delivering detailed reports, combined with the ability to present the relevant information to all interested stakeholders
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Strong Project Management skills

Hours of Work:

This role is 40 hours a week but flexibility to work outside of these hours is essential, working at our Pontefract site.
