Global Head of Lean

iO Associates are partnered with a market leading special purpose machinery company based in West Sussex who offer key solutions for electronics, medical research, renewable energy, food production, infrastructure and many more .

They are looking for a Lean expert to join them in a newly created Global Head of Lean position , to build a team designed to coach and train stake holders in behavioural thinking and lean methodologies. Implementing systematic platforms integrated into all of the divisions operations.

The Global Head of Lean will have autonomy and be accountable for the strategic direction, communications and the content for the improvement programs for the organisation. They will lead and design organisational structure and support a series of programmes within the division to manage and ensure the resources that will deliver operational excellence across all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve operational efficiency, contributing to divisions profitability.
  • Develop and own the strategy to implement new processes and procedures to increase operational efficiency.
  • Drive change through analysing data to identify operational excellence opportunities.
  • Coordinate with other departments within the organisation to deliver improvements across the division.
  • Lead projects to reduce costs.
  • Develop the right culture through forward thinking leadership and people.
  • Develop new processes to improve customer service and be the voice of the consumer in operational decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate with stake holders at all levels and the ability to work globally with the appreciation and understanding of different cultures and work practices.
  • Strong leadership skills which will empower and influence.
  • Data led approach with a strong focus on quality.
  • Creative and pragmatic approach to explore new ways of working.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering , Manufacturing , Science , or a similar discipline
  • Lean qualification e.g. 6Sigma or Shingo
  • Minimum of 5 years experience delivering complex change programs
  • Preferably management experience within an engineering or manufacturing company

This is a truly global role and to ensure great collaboration and interaction with the international team you must be willing to travel roughly 15-20% of your time. To provide work/life balance there is flexibility within the working pattern and therefore hybrid working is available.
