In this Deputy Editor role, you will lead a team of journalists with the daily newsletter and online content of this digital publication. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding in editing in the B2B led media outlet and the ability to engage with industry leaders ideally in the grocery / FMCG sector.
Key responsibilities of this Deputy Editor role:
- Oversee the content strategy, planning, and execution for the digital publication.
- Line manage a small team of Journalist/Reporters and freelancers when required.
- Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to align editorial content with business goals.
- Analyse readership data and feedback to continuously improve content strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships with key industry figures, including grocery retailers, suppliers, and trade associations.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and press conferences to gather information, network, and represent the publication.
- Stay updated on industry developments to identify and cover emerging trends & Stories.
Key requirements of this Deputy Editor role:
- Ideally having 4+ years of journalism experience and a portfolio of published articles.
- 1 years' experience as an Senior Journalist, Sub-Editor or Deputy Editor etc
- Experience working in a B2B or trade publication.
- Strong knowledge of the grocery industry and its key players is desirable but not essential
- Digital publishing skills - Google Analytics and WordPress (or other CMS).
- Familiarity with social media best practise and SEO techniques.
