Mechanical Fitter - Pontefract (Panama Shift)

Hours of Work:
Working our Panama shifts:
- Week 1 Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 56 Hours
- Week 2 Wednesday and Thursday – 24 Hours
Monday to Friday are 12 hour shifts, Saturday and Sunday are 10 hour shifts
Purpose of the Role:
The mechanical installation, maintenance production equipment, to the standards expected in the food industry.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Breakdown repair, machine setting, changeover and running maintenance and plant services equipment
- Preventative maintenance & Installation of new machinery
- Setting and monitoring of machinery where required
- The correct working and maintenance of all guarding systems
- The continuous improvement of all machinery
- To follow set procedures for permit to work, job recording, fire alarm muting, Health & Safety and Hygiene set systems of work
- To maintain all machinery to the standards expected in the food industry
- Fabrication work
- Willing to undertake any training required for the role
- Milling / Turning / Welding/ Pneumatics / Hydraulics / Bench Fitting
Qualifications / Experience
:
- Fully completed Apprenticeship is essential
- Installation and commissioning experience essential
- Good communication and good IT skills
- Ability to work to and deliver on competing deadlines
- Ability to effectively in a team environment, including cross functions
- A strong, confident communicator
- Enthusiastic and innovative team player
