Cedar is currently partnered with an exciting VC-Backed SaaS business to help them secure a Head of Finance on a part-time basis (2-3 days per week). The role is to support the Senior Leadership Team and VC Firm and would be based in their Central London office. The role is a 3-4 month initial contract, paying a day rate between £650-750 outside IR35.

They are on a highly impressive growth trajectory and will be instrumental in remoulding their area of the market.
The Role
As Interim Head of Finance, you would:
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations to ensure the smooth functioning of all core business-as-usual (BAU) finance processes. This includes managing a bookkeeper and ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, reconciliations, and monthly closings.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify and implement efficiencies in the finance function, including updates to software and processes, staff upskilling, and the introduction of automated systems. Provide ongoing support and iterative improvements to enhance reporting metrics and manage operational finance issues.
- Develop and manage consolidated cashflow and balance sheet forecasting models. Present regular financial reports to investors and the board.
- Review and enhance monthly management accounts and reporting packs. Ensure timely and accurate communication with the Senior Leadership Team and investors, implementing standardised reporting processes to streamline investor interactions.
- Support the CEO in managing fundraising initiatives, including overseeing financial modelling and investor communications. Provide support for forecasting and investor updates for ongoing fundraising activities.
Your Profile
You will ideally have:
- A formal Accountancy Qualification (e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CA, etc).
- Proven experience in SaaS focused Start Up or SME.
- Strong understanding of Financial Modelling, Scenario Planning, etc
- Business partnering experience to be able to collaborate with Senior Leadership.
- The rate of £650-750 per day represents either a logical increase in your rate or a similar level to your previous experience.
