Assistant Finance Manager
We are seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to play a key role within our finance team. This position involves supporting the Finance Manager with month-end tasks and assisting in leading the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions across two legal entities. This role is ideal for someone with a commercial and professional approach to work, who can multitask, juggle competing priorities, and work independently under tight deadlines.
Day-to-day of the role:
Accounts Receivable – 35%
- Assist the Finance Manager in leading and managing the AR team to ensure smooth operations.
- Serve as a point of reference for information, procedural advice, and queries.
- Resolve AR Aging items and ensure cash collection is maximised.
Accounts Payable – 35%
- Assist the Finance Manager in leading and managing the AP team to ensure smooth operations.
- Serve as a point of reference for information, procedural advice, and queries.
- Resolve any AP issues promptly.
Month End Close / General Accounting – 30%
- Handle internal and external audit requirements.
- Manage accruals and prepaids.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and treasury processes.
In addition to the specific duties listed, this role may include other tasks as requested by the Finance Manager from time to time.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- AAT Level 4 qualification.
- Studying towards ACCA or CIMA is an advantage but not essential.
- At least 3 years' recent experience in all aspects of the role.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to departmental goals and objectives.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Well-organised with good attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
