About the Role

Due to growth at our Client there is an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join the Business Development and Marketing Team based in the Manchester office.

What will you be doing?

You will have a wide array of responsibilities and the opportunity to directly influence the way business development initiatives are developed and implemented. Reporting to the firms BD Director and working closely with the wider Marketing team, you will play an essential role in strengthening the firm's growth plans.

You will work specifically with the Manchester Motor and Related Service Team.

The role is based in the Manchester office however some travel will be required as part of the role to the Glasgow, London and Leeds offices to work closely with the Senior Stakeholders who are based within these offices.

You will be sharing key metrics where appropriate as well as supporting the delivery of a range of bids and tenders- ensuring the firm's response to formal client panel reviews, RFIs, ITTs and RFPs is properly managed and co-ordinated. You will deliver on a range of business development activities and tasks and ensure that all relevant business development plans and logs are maintained and kept up to date in order to help drive the right BD activity including the development of a workable bid library.

You will be expected to set-up and attend a range of BD meetings with the BD Director in order to facilitate targeting efforts whilst working with the marketing team to ensure BD activities are aligned with marketing activities on a day to day basis. You will support the development and delivery of a range of BD collateral on behalf of the business including capability statements, informal proposals and presentations. On occasion you will be asked to liaise with external organisations to maximise publicity and the ability to drive referral activity across the firm.

What do I need?

You should have experience of a working in a tried and tested BD role with at least 2 years within a legal service environment. You will have previous experience in supporting on a range of bids and an understanding of the bid process at a high level. You will be an effective networker and be able to establish new contacts and lines of work whilst nurturing the established relationships that already exist.

You will be self-sufficient and be confident and driven with the ability to manage and partner with Senior Stakeholders within the business.

You will be organised, proactive, effective communicator with a high degree of capability across all Microsoft office products as well as potential experience of designing and delivering BD client focussed collateral.
