Quality Manager (Engineered Manufacturing Processes)

GBR Recruitment are exclusively working with a leading Engineered Product Manufacturing business, recruiting for an experienced Plant Quality Manager to work from the clients Lincolnshire Manufacturing facility.

A great opportunity for a QMS guru, with an Engineering / Manufacturing QM background, working an 8-hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday.

Ideally you will have worked in highly regulated environments such as Automotive, Aerospace or Marine product manufacturing (engineered products), plus be used to dealing with high end customers face to face & have had exposure to non-destructive product testing activities.

As the no.1 for all things Quality (process, procedures, risk mitigation, QMS) you will be familiar with ISO 9001, AS 9100 & NADCAP (2 out of the 3 would be fine) & have the knowledge of what is required to achieve & maintain these certificates / accreditations.

Job Description:

This role is working with a host of professional engineers, technologists and coating experts produces coated products (parts & components) for the Aerospace & Automotive industry sectors (Tier 1 etc.), working with some of the Globes most well known names.

The company offers high-performance product surface coatings and technologies to help customers improve environmental performance, decrease energy consumption, plus to extend component life.

Position Overview:

As Quality Manager for the Lincolnshire plant, you will ensure that the plant operations are delivering in accordance with quality procedures and that the best utilisation is obtained from manpower, equipment and raw materials.

Main Duties:

  • You will have complete ownership of Quality Management System (QMS), maintaining it and ensuring its suitability to meet business requirements. Further you will train other employees on its usage and ensure adhered
  • You will lead the site audit schedule for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Further you will be responsible for maintaining the operating costs at current budget level in relation to sales
  • You will provide timely investigation and reporting of key quality indicators as per corporate requirements
  • To achieve performance improvements against agreed targets, for example reducing the cost of quality to less than 1% of Plants sales, is a key objective of this position
  • You will drive improvement in customer satisfaction and ensure a QA lead or support in all investigations and reported incidents, including but not limited to health, safety and quality
  • Adopting and supporting lean & OpX principles to achieve and then maintain a final gold class standard of laboratory, are required in this role
  • In addition, you will manage a team of Quality Engineers, Inspectors and Laboratory technicians, developing a succession plan for your direct reports and championing personal development.

Key Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent and prior experience in a quality engineering / manufacturing environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills are part of your armory
  • Must have good people management skills and a proven track record in managing people
  • You're calm, patient, persuasive, and able to handle conflict and conflicting priorities
  • Full awareness of regulatory compliance and knowledge of customer quality standards, e.g. ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP is desirable
  • You have excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills along with high engagement, drive and initiative
  • The ability to work in a demanding user environment with strong multi-tasking and prioritisation skills round up your skillset
