Teaching assistants needed for secondary schools

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants in Preston to support our KS3 and KS4 students and teachers. The daily pay rate for this role is between £85 and £90, based on your experience, qualifications, and teaching proficiency.

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of students. Working closely with teachers, you will help create a positive learning environment and ensure students have the assistance they need to succeed.

Responsibilities:

  • Reading, writing and SPAG support.
  • Adjusting or breaking down activities to support participation and understanding.
  • Develop a supportive relationship with the child that promotes self esteem and confidence.
  • To develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical, emotional and behavioural needs of the child and respond to them effectively.
  • To liaise with the Teacher and SENCO about the development and support needed at home and in school for the child.
  • To provide the whole class, small groups and 1:1 support.
  • Monitor and maintain records of the pupils progress.
  • To assist with general school duties which may include setting up classrooms, preparing resources and displays and tidying and clearing away
  • Supervision of children during lunch times and Supervision of children entering and leaving school premises.

Requirements:

  • Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to engage with, and build rapport with the students.
  • Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
  • Have experience with SEN or knowledge learning difficulties.
  • TA qualified.

All candidates will be subject to Randstad Education's child protection and UK eligibility vetting including a DBS check and providing satisfactory references. A DBS on the update service would be a distinct advantage due to the urgent nature of some of these roles.
