Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as our Supported Internships Co-ordinator. This role is multi-campus based. You will join us on a permanent, term-time basisand in return, we will offer a competitive salary pro rata of £29,778 to £32,548 per annum.

The Supported Internships Co-ordinator role:

Are you looking for a term time only role that enables you make a real difference to learners' lives?

As our Supported Internships Co-ordinator, you will have responsibility for co-ordinating the Supported Internship provision across CCG as well as developing the number and range of Supported Internship opportunities available and introduce innovative approaches to delivery where possible.

You will work pro-actively with Post-16 Learning Providers across the local area to promote and support the implementation of high-quality Supported Internship Programmes as well as looking at ways of improving of the Supported Internships offer, including working with SEND young people and their parents and carers.

Key Responsibilities of our Supported Internships Co-ordinator:

  • Work pro-actively with Post-16 Learning Providers across the local area to promote and support the implementation of high-quality Supported Internship Programmes.
  • Look at ways of improving of the Supported Internships offer, including work with SEND young people and their parents and carers.
  • Monitor and evaluate supported internship provision, acting as a critical friend providing support and challenge as appropriate using the Supported Internships Quality Assurance Framework.
  • Ensure knowledge is up to date regarding funding and eligibility for the growth of high-quality Supported Internships.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and undertake development work with local Employers.
  • Maintain existing and develop new relationships with Employers, to build awareness of Supported Internships and prepare employers for taking on an intern which could include support with recruitment, training and progression opportunities.
  • Undertake networking and create strong partnerships with agencies such as Social Care, Job Centre Plus, Voluntary and Community sector, Health and any other who may be deemed relevant.
  • Ensure the delivery of job coach training to colleagues delivering support.

Our ideal Supported Internships Co-ordinator should have the below skills and experience:

  • Educated to Level 3
  • Level 2 English and Maths
  • Level 3 Coaching/Mentoring qualification or the willingness to work towards achievement
  • Information, Advice and Guidance or Award in Education & Training qualification or a willingness to work towards achieving
  • Experience Supporting students post-16
  • Experience Delivering learning advice to students in a 1:1 or group
