IT Support Assistant – 1 year FTC

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a collaborative and dynamic IT Support Assistant to join our new IT team! The desired candidate will provide groupwide operational IT, data and multi-media support. The role will act as primary contact for day-to-day ‘trouble shooting', data issues and system support requirements and as well as work collaboratively colleagues and suppliers to source, prepare, track and maintain IT equipment for the company including new joiners. The IT Support Assistant will be passionate about delivering excellent client care and stakeholder management – able to work under pressure to delivery an effective IT support service, promoting best practice, new technologies and use initiative to suggest and support roll out of system improvements.

Duties:

As part of our dynamic IT team, the Support Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and exceptional user experiences. We're seeking an individual who monitors the shared helpdesk inbox, addressing ICT, data, and social media inquiries. Prioritising excellent customer service, signposting solutions, and escalating issues when necessary are key aspects of this role. Additionally, the role holder will assist the Head of ICT with administration, testing, and roll-out of new technical projects. Responsibilities include maintaining an up-to-date asset register, providing relevant data, contributing to commercial strategies, implementing system changes, and staying informed about IT updates and opportunities. You'll also create and publish web, intranet, and social media content.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree in Computer Science or similar (preferred).
  • Good technical knowledge of Microsoft and other key operating systems plus a good understanding of app technology and multi-media platforms.
  • Able to prioritise multiple deliverables and be analytically minded.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a fast-changing customer services focused environment.
  • Ability to challenge embedded ways of working through facilitation and coaching.
  • Excellent client and care interpersonal skills - able to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders (including clients, colleagues, suppliers).
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Enquiring mind that wants to use systems and processes to drive improvement across the business and keeps up to date with best practice and new technologies in order to do so.

Working Arrangements:

  • Full-time, 12 month FTC (36 hours per week), Monday to Friday.
  • Location: Dagenham East.
